Effective communication is key to everything we do as a team. The core way we communicate as a team is through Planning Center Online and Slack. Both platforms have different communication methods and we use them both for communicating to different groups of people.
Planning Center (PCO) is used for broad communication to various teams about the flow, scheduling, and order of service. Everyone on the worship and production teams are users of PCO and this is the way all services and events are scheduled.
In addition to service flow, PCO also provides communication for the following:
The following are the intended users of this form of communication:
While Planning Center Online is the broad method of communication that is used for communication, the Production Slack is used for communication with campuses and Central, and provides updates from broadcast on flow and service changes in real-time.
This is also one of the primary communication methods we use to communicate real time issues from the campus back to Central. During a service, Slack is monitored by broadcast and support teams. Contacting support has more information about how this all works together.
Finally, every campus has their own Slack workspace that is setup on campus launch. This Slack is managed by the campus production team leader. On setup, a #children
channel is setup that is designed for receiving child numbers as sent from the Production website.
Campus Slack workspaces can also facilitate other teams within a campus, such as the campus support staff, worship teams, and campus pastoral teams. This is left up to the campus on how this is setup. Central staff does not maintain or control campus workspaces.
